Oh I love this! (Also, I definitely signed up for my first marathon having never run longer distances - same logic about training! Well, I'll get there on the way!)
Awesome!! Let me know if you want any info about what I did for nutrition. I almost included it, but it seemed like too much detail. When is your marathon?
This is why I play sports. For the love of the game, not caring if I win. Just playing to play, regardless of the outcome. Beautiful message of finding the 'thing' you want to do and just do it! No matter what it looks like. And how accomplished you must have felt crossing that finish line. Your words had me running right there with you. Thank you for sharing!
I loved this Miche! "Let go of the outcome and run slow, like really slow, ridiculously slow. " what great advice for life as well. This is inspiring me to do a little running too.
Congratulations! I used to race and go for sub-4 marathons, during the BC times (before children). Now I am 100% on team party pace. My running is all about enjoying the scenery and the company of my fellow run club members who are also on team party pace.
Loved this Michelle - “By letting go of outcomes, slowing down and savouring every step, every breath, I experienced the whispers of victories not shouted across finish lines but in every stride taken against past mental hurdles.” Beautiful perspective.
I’m about to publish my piece in the next few days - and the backdrop is marathoning as well :)
Love a good essay about running! Such great advice. Sharing this with others.
Thank you! Really appreciate it
Agree! As a runner (maybe I should say a rusty runner), I loved this piece.
You can coin a new saying, “A run a day keeps the rust away” 😝
Moving your body is all that matters. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading!

Nice essay!
“Party pace”, love it! Thanks for reading 💕
Love this and congrats on finishing! It's kind of like Tiny Habits, but instead of starting with small distances, just start with slow speed!!
Thank you! Yes, exactly
"How many times in life have you let striving for outcomes deprive you of joy and fulfillment?" Way to go Miche! Love your core message.
Thank you Jeff!
